40 weeks
Was hoping to never reach 40 weeks but apparently she likes it in there. Induction is set for next Tuesday. Really really really hope this "deadline" will mean I will go into labor on my own. Know many who never made it to the actual induction but had it scheduled. Either way she will be here sometime between now and the 29th.

39 weeks 1 day
Been slacking on this but making some progress in the labor department. Hoping not to go too much past my due date as I figure the smaller she is the easier to get her out=) I was 2cm and 70% effaced yesterday, starting to drop some but nothing real dramatic. The rugs we ordered for her room should be here today. Hope they are nice as we ordered online and couldn't see them in the store first. Both were on sale for less than the original price of the larger one, I had a $50 gift card so we spent less than $50 on 2 rugs. Think that is great! Still can't find frames for his paintings so need to head to Michael's or Hobby Lobby to see if we can figure another way to hang them up. Carseat bases are in and bag is packed. Just waiting on her!
May be my last bump picture.

36 weeks 2 days
Had my first weekly appointment this morning and it went smoothly. She gave me a bunch of handouts and discussed some details of the big day like who is going to be in there with me, pain relief, etc. I am 1cm but no effacement. I know I could be this way next week so trying not to get too anxious. Want to get the carrier bases installed this weekend but need to vacuum both cars first. Got all of the smaller clothes without tags, blankets, towels, and sheets washed last weekend. I need to finish the thank you cards but ran out of them so off to get more this weekend. Still can't think of a good hostess gift for Sherrie but will try to get it before Sunday. The house is decent but not as clean as I would like it to be. The basics I keep up on but last night I noticed the baseboard along one of the stairs is really dusty, its things like this that have not been addressed.
Here is my picture from Wednesday.

34 weeks 2 days
Last biweekly appointment was this morning, I go back Feb 25th. Everything is right on track, actually lost a couple lbs but I attribute that to being sick. I get to work and see streamers all around my door, balloons and pictures. Leda, Sara, & Terry stayed last night and decorated. We had a potluck and they surprised me with presents too. They had chipped in and gotten us the infant carrier and extra base. I am still in shock and so very grateful! My boss had to go down and meet a client of ours on the Ohio river and brought back 2 cases of Yuengling Beer for Neil, he will be thrilled! The shower is Sunday so I am starting the weekend off right. We have completed half of our child birthing class and the newborn care class. Next week is the other half of the CB class and the breastfeeding class. After that is the infant CPR the first week of March.

33 weeks
I hate being sick!!! Neil and I got the flu bug I think. He got it first and then me. Luckily some of it hit over the weekend so we stayed in bed and did nothing. Now I need to work on disinfecting the house. I have done some but really need to do a deep cleaning but the lack of energy makes all chores exhausting. We missed the Labor and Delivery tour as it was Sunday and neither of us was in any shape to go. It did take some convincing from Neil for me to make the decision not to go. I was going to tough it out but glad I didn't now. Our first childbirth class is this coming Monday and parenting class is Tuesday. Then Wednesday is the appt to get our taxes done and his grandma is having surgery to have part of her thyroid removed. I usually do our taxes but with selling and buying houses this year I was afraid I'd screw something up. Hope to go back to doing it myself next year.
Baby Kaitlyn is doing great. She loves to squirm! Moving as I type in fact. I feel so bad everytime I cough or sneeze wondering what it feels like to her. My lower abdomen is sooo sore from all the coughing. Sleep is priceless right now and would love to get more than an hour or so at one time. I feel her a lot at night but I don't know if she has always moved or if its just that I am awake. Seems to range between 1-5 every morning. Can't make any more progress on her room or stuff till after the shower to in a holding pattern for now. No bump pic yet but maybe later this week.
From the Bump:
Your Baby: Month 8
Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month

30 weeks 5 days
Wow time is flying by. Now into biweekly appointments with the midwife. Hospital tour is Jan 30 and our first birthing class is Feb 7. Room is done except for hanging the paintings that Neil did and finding a rug. I think my cousin is going to let us borrow her glider so I still have to get that from her and paint the register vents but Neil won't let me do it so maybe on Tuesday when it is supposed to be above freezing I can ask him to do this while I am gone at a meeting for church. Shower is going to be Feb 13 at our church. Trying hard not to look at the registries but its tempting! I hope to start researching doctors and childcare this week. A friend of mine offered to watch her but I have not mentioned it to Neil yet but need to make this a priority. I would love to not have her go to a center, prefer someone home based. If we could afford to I would stay home but can't swing that at this time. Hoping for a decent tax return so I can put some of that away to help with my time off as I only get 2 weeks paid.
Here is a bump picture from this past wednesday
From the bump, weeks 29-32
Your Baby: Month 7
Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments.

28 weeks
3rd Trimester!!! Wow time has flown by. Nursery is getting close to looking like a little girls room. Walls are painted, dresser is assembled, waiting for part for crib then we can do it (sending us a new side piece as ours had gash in it. My cousin Sherrie has offered to host the baby shower for us, but not sure when yet. We are signed up for all of our classes through the hospital and the tour comes first on Jan 30th. We are chugging along but I still feel like I have a ton to do but really don't. Haven't washed any of the clothing, bedding, etc yet, think I will wait till after the shower and see what all we get. Did the glucose test last Tuesday and as far as I know I passed. Bi weekly appts start at 30 weeks, hard to believe!
Here is my ever growing bump....
