October 2009

There is not much new to report for this month so far. Neil is going to Cincinnati October 12-16 for a convention so I get to bach it for a week. Our house was listed 09/24 but no showings yet. Watch....we will get some while he is gone. Oh well, the house is pretty clean and hopefully they'd give us some notice.

I have requested information about going back to school and I think I am going to do it but have to figure out the financial aspects of it now. I haven't done the FAFSA in over 7 years, so I guess I'll do it and see what happens even if it is all loans. The school is American Public University and it is an online university which is what I need. I plan to do the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Forensic concentration to complement my associates degree in Forensic Science. I am ready for a change and not sure how to go about it without quitting my job and leaving it up to chance. I can not afford to do that so I will stick it out for now. It will be 7 years in November that I started at the insurance agency. I love the people at work but I am starting to hate the job and it makes going to work hard some days. It will be hard to leave if I get the chance but I think it will be for the best. Maybe Neil will take a job elsewhere then I will have a reason to quit!

New month and new start

I have been struggling with losing weight for over a year which is hard to accept/admit. I had been a healthy weight but what some call skinny-fat. Well over the last 5 years that has slowly changed. I will do really well for about a month then I fall off the wagon. Now that we are TTC I want, no need to do it now. I am switching to sparkpeople from fitday to see if that helps me track food better. I did go for a run Saturday but have I been since, um no. 30 day shred dvd is another outlet I have available to me but its the effort. I have the motivation (the way I look and feel) but yet I don't because I make excuses not to exercise and poor eating choices. Neil is in the same boat so we need to hold each other accountable!

One year down!!

Neil and I just celebrated our one year anniversary July 26, 2009 with friends and family at our house. It was nice to have everyone over to eat our cake. The company that we got our wedding cake from offers to make you a fresh replica of your top tier for your 1 year anniversary and so thankful that we took advantage of it. It was so yummy and plan to get more cakes from them in the future.

The next goal is to get our house listed to sell so that we can move into a bigger house. We bought this house December 2004 and I think its our time to move on. Its been a great first house and it will be sad to leave but in a good way. With 2 large dogs and the future plan of a child, a bigger house would work better for us. If it doesn't sell this time we may try again in the spring. While it is unfortunate that so many people are losing their homes, we are grateful to both be employed and able to build equity. Hopefully we don't have to take too much of a hit but I know we won't get what we paid for it but I understand why and have accepted it.

We are actually going to go see a movie tomorrow. It may be our first one together in probably 4 years. Inglorious Basterds is our choice then lunch at Brio over in Easton. Neil has to study this weekend for his 2nd CPCU test 9/11/09 and he starts his new position Monday. He is going to be a "acting team manager" which is hi goal anyways so this is really good practice.

Well, I better get back to work and hope to continue documenting our lives together.
